Outside: forsythia in bloom

So it's raining and gloomy outside right now. I suppose those are the "April Showers." Eventually those should yield some "May flowers." But in the mean time the bushes in the yard are moving ahead with spring. This year the forsythia had a nice showing of flowers.

Anyway, before the rain started I snapped some shots:

Hopefully your plants & flowers are enjoying the unusually warm weather.

Lovely photos! I've taken a few (not very good) pictures of this stuff recently, but I didn't know what it was called. Now I know - thanks!

It's rainy here too - instead of focusing on the flowers in my company's landscaping I just wrote a grumpy post. So I think you win LOL!

Wonderful angles and views of the blossoms. We're getting the same weather as you, here in southern Ontario and I'm just loving it. Good bye winter!

Hi Sarah, Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you come back often. I am enjoying yours... Love the purple background.

I took a Forsythia picture yesterday that looks almost identical to some of the ones you have shown. I love Spring---and seeing all of the flowering bushes and trees is SO special...

I like Red-winged Blackbirds also .. I've seen a few here --but they don't come to my feeders...

Thanks again.
Hugs,
Betsy

Thanks, Sarah, for visiting my blog and for your kind comments on my azalea/birdhouse photo!

Your forsythia pics are so so pretty and spring-y! The yellow color is so vibrant and cheerful. And I love your marsh photos; we have red-winged blackbirds that visit our feeders, but the marsh setting is a perfect place to capture their beauty.

I love forsythia! It's such a happy flower...and it arrives in our town just when you can't take another day of winter. The yellow bursts out and the winter greys are gone!! Beautiful photos...
