Artist's Statement

I am not what I am not; I am what I am, and I do what pleases me in the moment that I happen to be doing it. I am an artist.

Words are words, I work in images, pictures, compositions. I draw. I render. I paint. I photograph... I imagine.

I meander, I wander, and I always find things; tangible and intangible. I’m messy, unkempt, chaotic, unplanned, spur of the moment... but I’m not committed to some plan of constant or regular spontaneity. If it happens, then it happens; if not, then not.

I like the notion of endless possibilities, and sunsets, and the color violet. End results are infinite; the ability to form them should hold true to that ideal. I like the idea of infinite ideas or infinite directions. I cherish change. I enjoy evolving. I want to do different things in different ways at different points in time for different intervals of time... and I’m human, so I want to be happy with what I’m doing.

Sometimes I’m literal, and sometimes I’m figurative. I hope you experience something when you view my artwork, and I hope that something is self determined.

Sometimes I title pieces, and sometimes I don’t. Some things need a name, some don’t. Because, ultimately, words are words, but I work in images — pictures — compositions. Sometimes words are a necessary tool, and sometimes not.

So, be open, and look around.
